Kemah Boardwalk

A few weekends ago, Jacob surprised me and Brenna with a fun day trip to Kemah.  It's been years since I've been to Kemah and Brenna had never been.  The weather was beautiful, the temperature was just right, and our little family had a fantastic day.  We got there right when it opened and started off the morning at the carnival rides.  The crowds hadn't showed up, so we practically had the entire place to ourselves at least for a little while.

Gorgeous Day!

Goofing off while we wait to get armbands for the carnival rides!

We rode the Kemah Express around the Boardwalk!

Next we rode the Boardwalk Tower!  Fantastic views!

Brenna was brave and decided to ride the Jungle Bounce.  Her courage didn't last that long once the ride got started!

The ferris wheel!

Jacob took a picture of me and Brenna and then Brenna took a picture of him!

After the carnival rides we took a walk down the boardwalk to enjoy some snacks and let Brenna play on the playground for a little while.  By this time people were starting to arrive and she burned off some energy running, jumping, and climbing with the other kids while Jacob and I enjoyed funnel cake!

Next we headed to Stingray Reef to feed the Stringrays!

Brenna loved this!  She really enjoyed touching and petting the stingrays, but she was a little skittish about feeding them.  Even though she knew they didn't have any teeth, she said she didn't like to feel their suction.  Still, it gave me hope that the next time we're in Grand Cayman that she would try Stingray City.  I'd love for her to be able to experience that.

After Stringray Reef we had lunch at The Aquarium and enjoyed the view of the 50,000 gallon tank.  Next we moved on to the dancing fountain at the center of The Boardwalk.  I knew she would definitely want to play in it so I thought ahead and brought a change of clothes with us.

Brenna posing in her new Pinkie Pie shirt that she got for all A's on her report card!

Then it was off to feed the fish!  And there were lots to feed!  They would pile on top of themselves out of the water for a fistful of food.  We even had some stray cats come out from under the dock to see if they could get a little nibble.  Jacob was accommodating and shared some of his turkey leg with them.  Those were two happy cats!

She even talked us into a tattoo!  What's funny is it was a choice between this small temporary tattoo or full-face painting, both of which cost about $10.  We chose the tattoo, because I told Brenna she would have to take the face paint off that night, but the tattoo was suppose to last for 7 days.  It washed off in the bathtub that night!  The same night I had to remove with alcohol what was left of the free temporary tattoo that she got at our schools halloween carnival 3 weeks earlier.  Go figure!

There's no walking by carnival games with this kid!

Her favorite thing!  A whole alley of grabber games!

We even took a carriage ride to Cinderella's Beach House!

Brenna loving on Dolly.  Dolly was alittle confused.  She thought she was a reindeer!

It was a great day for the McAlister family and I am thankful for my great husband who surprised us with it!
