Happy Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun this year!  Things that we've done every year seems to get more fun the older Brenna gets.  We got boo'd this year by a school friend.  Brenna suddenly turned into Nancy Drew on the case to discover who the culprit was.  But this time the boo'ing was more fun than being boo'd.  We made a special shopping trip to fill our boo baskets with fun halloween treats and then we developed our boo plan.  DRRD!  Drop, Ring, Run, Drive!  Drop the basket!  Ring the doorbell!  Run like crazy as fast as you can back to the car!  Drive away ASAP!  Needless to say she thought the whole thing was fantastic fun!

Coming into October I had no doubt that we would need a My Little Pony costume for Halloween.  After searching through Walmart, Target, Toyrus, Spirit Halloween, and Halloween Express with no luck, I began to panic!!!  I moved my search to the internet where I couldn't find the right size.  I finally decided to order a small (even though she needed a medium) and hope that we could make it work.  After placing the order I patiently watched the time tick away and the estimated delivery date come and go!!!  I began talking to Brenna about being anything other than a My Little Pony and she was heartbroken but kindly agreed to try to decide on something else.  Of course I began chasing every possible My Little Pony costume I could find, and called random costume shops all over the United States.  Finally, with only a week to spare her costume shipped!!! When it arrived and she looked at it for the first time and her response was "Where's the tail???"  Seriously, how can they make a My Little Pony Costume without a tail!!!!  So, that started the project to make a pony tail and I figured I would add a unicorn horn too, just to make sure we accurately depicted the character!!!  We finished off the outfit with spray-in pink and purple hair!

Here is Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony

Everyone met up at our house for trick-or-treat!  We ended up with about 10 kiddos and all the parents in our entourage.  The kids ran (not walked) from house to house and we did the best we could to keep up.  Lots and lots of people were out and it was a fun night walking and talking with all our neighbors and friends as we made our way through the streets.

I love our friends!!!  They're so much fun!!!

The kids had a great time and lasted longer this year than ever before!  They managed at least 2 miles and 2.5 hours!  Once Brenna started to complain that her feet hurt, that sounded like a good time to head home.  More fun waited for her there where she shoveled out candy by the fistful and quickly depleted our candy stash.  More friends came by and it made for a late night, especially since we had 3 cans of spray-in hair color to wash out and school the next day.  But it was all worth it!  It was another great Halloween!
