John's 2nd Birthday Party!

We love to celebrate birthdays and Brenna has a very dear friend thats turning 2 this week.  You see John's picture on here often, as we've been blessed to get to know both his parents and his grandparents.  Brenna had been anxiously awaiting John's party all week.  Shellie did a wonderful job with the party and the kids had a blast.  We had perfect weather for some outdoor fun and the kids got creative while decorating birthday cake shaped sugar cookies.  Here's a few shots from the day!

Jodi, your photo banner idea continues on in Texas.  Who knows, by the end of 2011 we may just pass it all the way around the world (or at least the U.S.)!

The cake was too cute!  I've never thought to do a number cake before and this just turned out adorable!

Shellie really out did herself with the food.  There was a constant flow of breakfast casserole from the over throughout the party and they were devoured by both the kids and adults alike.  And I don't care what age you are, who doesn't like pigs-in-a-blanket!  It was all YUM!

The cookie decorating was a big hit.  Each child was given a cup of icing and a sugar cookie with all the fun shapes and color sprinkles they could have.  I'm not sure how much decorating Brenna did, but her icing cup was empty when it was all over.

 

John's little fingers got started on the birthday cake long before the candles were even lit!
