Well, at least by Southeast Texas standards it cold. Last night I placed my camera on the table and went to bed with hopes of snowmen, snow angels, and a cute 3-year old all bundled up with hat and mittens. We were cheated out of our snow and faced the 3rd day of below freezing temperatures. Only today, things weren't just cold, they were cold and icy.
This last picture was just for fun. I was sitting in the office when I heard a loud bang. I knew exactly what it was because unfortunately its happened several times before. You see, after we tinted the windows in living room to help deflect the summer heat, on and overcast day the windows mirror the outside and less than attentive birds sometimes fly into them head first thinking their flying into the wide open blue skies. The larger birds are usually just stunned for a moment and then fly off of their own accord. I went to the living room to check the status of the unlucky bird and I found this guy. He was easy to spot, given his bright colors on this dreary day. Don't worry, I had just enough time to grab the camera and snap the shot, at which point I think he heard the camera's shutter. He took one glance at me through the back door and flew away.
