The Houston Zoo

We've made several trips to the Houston Zoo over the last few years.  It's really is beautiful and it never ceases to amaze me that all of that along with Herman Park is packed into downtown Houston.  A new section open recently that's themed as an African Safari.  So, the good weather lead us to the zoo one afternoon to check out the new exhibits and enjoy some of the old favorites.

Now, the next video was taken at the new Chimpanzee exhibit.  There's a large window viewing area that has a ledge large enough for the kids to stand on.  Brenna was the only person standing on the ledge, leaning into the glass waving at a chimpanzee that was dancing and waving back.

Needless to say, the chimpanzee charged the glass and rammed right into the window where Brenna was standing.  She jumped back, Jacob caught her (which is why the video went down at the end).  I expected to see tears, fears, horror.  But no, she was laughing saying "Did you see that?"  The woman next to me commented that the chimpanzee was obviously having a difficult transition.  This will definitely be one of my long lasting memories from the Houston Zoo.  It ranks right up there with the time that the bird pooped on Pawpaw.
