Earlier in the month, we celebrated Family Day, which is a national holiday in Canada. I guess we're officially making it a tradition to spend it sledding as a family, since that's what we've chosen to do the last two years. Brenna was especially excited to hit the snow hill so she could try out her new snowboard. She started strong and caught on quick. She quickly learned to manage her balance and was flying down the hill after only a few tries. We only had one major wipe out and she didn't let it scare her. She bounced back from it and kept trying.
Jacob helping to get her strapped in and ready to go.
She made her way around the hill and tried out all four downhill slopes. This little outing proved to be a good sign for the success of our upcoming Spring Break trip, where Brenna will learn to ski for the first time. I expect Brenna will take to it much better than I will.
After we got home, we decided to let the cats out for some fresh air, only because Pickles showed some interest. While he did go out onto the back porch, he would not step off into the yard. I think his last snow experience when he disappeared into a snow mound may still haunt him. Moose didn't want to go out and couldn't get back inside fast enough.
We're all patiently waiting for winter to be over!
