McAlister Family Fun Day at the Zoo

It's been awhile since just the three of us have gotten away to do something fun and the weather last week was just too beautiful to pass up the opportunity for a day at the zoo.  We got there right after it opened and leisurely enjoyed all our favorite parts.

Brenna crawling through the aquarium!
Brenna "Keeper of the Map"

There's an echo in here, here, here!

Brenna loves coin drops.  So much so, that for some people this is just pocket change, but we should start keeping track and take it as a tax right off.

It's not a trip to the zoo without a ride on the Wildlife Carousel.  Brenna picked the penguin because they have been studying it in school this week.

We also feed the giraffes.  That long string that is freely flowing from his mouth is a dribble of slobber that drifted out into the crowd.  Yum!

One of my New Years resolutions is to take more pictures with Brenna instead of always being behind the camera!  Check!

We caught the 4-D Dora and Diego Rainforest Adventure and did some cave crawling at the prairie dog exhibit.

Finally we came home with a pet snake.

It was a good day and good to know that time with just Mom and Dad can still be fun!
