Well, the big day finally came! I can't believe my little girl is going to Kindergarten. Where did all the time go? I'm so thankful for the wonderful husband I have that allowed my to spend these first 5 years at home with her. It's been such a blessing to have that time and very hard to let go of it. She looked so grown up in her uniform on that first day of school.
Kindergarten was a big adjustment for both her and me. Of course, Brenna never missed a beat. She picked right up with the flow of things and made the transition without any issues. I wish I could say the same for me. I made the transition, but not quiet as effortlessly as Brenna. I've been slowly adjusting to my new found time and trying to fill it beneficially.
At this posting, we've been at it for about a month, and while Brenna loves school, she's not completely sold on the need to go everyday! Really, the biggest issue for her is not getting to sleep in. So, we start each week with a count down to when we get to sleep late again. Her favorite part of school is recess, with PE coming in a close second. She also comes home with some beautiful master pieces from Art Class and new tunes from Music Class. So far, so good! Let's hope it continues!
