Brenna's 5th Birthday

I can't believe my little girl is 5 years old and about to start Kindergarten.  I'm so proud of the little girl she's becoming!  She's happy and sweet and smart.  Now it seems like she keeps me in line as much as I keep her in line.

Her actually birthday was on a Tuesday but we celebrated all week long!  On the Monday she was excited to see Mawmaw come visit with my Aunt Shirley, Aunt Juan, and Uncle Sal.  Brenna played cards with Aunt Juan for most of afternoon.  Aunt Juan kept asking her if she was cheating, to which Brenna quickly replied "No!"  But, she picked up on the thought and then started asking Aunt Juan "Are you cheating me?"

On Tuesday, she started off the morning opening a few gifts.  She had ice cream for lunch and played all day with Mawmaw.  We celebrated that night with a cupcake cake and more gifts.

We finished off the rested of the week with playdates and Winnie the Pooh Movie with friends at the Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse.  On Friday, Pawpaw came, which meant more gifts and we were busy preparing for her birthday party on Saturday morning.

After all the fuss I made last year about making your own birthday party stuff, I can't believe I got roped back into it again this year.  After a long debate about what kind of birthday party theme Brenna wanted, she finally came away with Doc McStuffins.  For those not familiar with Disney Junior, this is a new show that started back in March about a little girl with a magic stethoscope that brings toys to life as she helps heal their boo boos.  Brenna fell in love with the show and the music.  I had no complaints that she wanted a Doc McStuffins party, because I knew how much she enjoyed it.  It was unfortunate for me, however, because since the show was so new there was no commercial party ware out for it yet.  And that's how we came back to the Do-it-Yourself birthday party theme!  Urg!

Brenna decided to have her party at Stomping Grounds, a very elaborate 3 level indoor playscape.  This simplified the party decor since we were limited to just decorating the party room.  Here's some pics from the day.  The kids all had a great time and Brenna was thrilled to have all her pals with her.

The Party Room

We stuck with pink and purple to match Doc McStuffins. These also happen to be Brenna's favorite colors!

The cupcakes were suppose to have pink and purple swirled wrappers.  But, due to an unfortunate incident at the bakery we had to have an emergency batch of cupcakes made and had to settle for just white.  Oh well, at least the toppers were cute!

Sticking with the Doc McStuffins theme, everyone got doctor sets and Doc McStuffins activity sheets as favors!

Brenna and 15 of her favorite friends had lots of playtime!

Ready for pizza and cupcakes!

After we got home, she was thrilled to open all her gifts!

My sweet, sweet, 5 year old!
