The Downtown Aquarium Houston!

Our family decided to take a much needed "mini" break.  Jacob took the day off last Friday and we made it a three-day weekend.   We went to the Downtown Aquarium Friday morning to enjoy the cooler weather and have some fun.  Here's a few shots from the day.

We all got armbands so that we could ride unlimited rides, so Brenna got her money's worth out of the carousal.  We also rode the Ferris Wheel a couple of times.

Next we ventured into the Aquarium.  The first shot is of a sword shark that was resting on the top of the tunnel aquarium that the train stopped in.

Brenna had her first encounter with a talking parrot.  She said "Hey!" to which the parrot replied "Hey!"  She got tickled and laughed, so the bird laughed right back at her.  That conversation went on for a while.

Brenna thought is was great to touch the stingrays and sharks.

My favorite part was the white tiger exhibit.  They were beautiful.  However, they didn't seem very agreeable with us or each other (hence the need for the plexiglass divider), but they were gorgeous.  Not only did they fight amongst themselves, but one actually jumped up on the plexiglass behind a woman who was standing in front having her picture taken.  I wish I could have seen how that picture came out!

Next we headed for to the Aquarium Restaurant for lunch.  Brenna got to know one of the big fish up close and personal when she planted a big kiss on the the Aquarium glass.

Next, if was back outdoors for some mid-way games.  Brenna loved the fishing game.  Encase your wondering about the guys face in the second picture, that was just after she managed to hook her 5th fish and he said "Most adults can't catch one, and she just keeps reeling em' in!"  She won herself her very own fish.

Of course, after 3 armbands, lunch, and exhibit tickets, the activity she got the most enjoyment out of was the free splash pad!  She would never run through the splash pad, only around it, but she definitely got in her laps.

 Uh Oh!  Wipe Out!
