Brenna's 3rd Birthday Party!

Brenna's 3rd Birthday Party was a huge success. She had a fantastic time with all her friends. We celebrated with a Sesame Street theme this year and we went Sesame all the way! From the decorations, to the food, to the crafts and games, to wrappings, even Brenna's birthday outfit included Elmo and friends. We started off the morning with a few gifts. She had been patiently waiting since Friday when she found all the wrapped presents in the upstairs bedroom.

I made some of the decorations myself. I got the idea to make Sesame Street faces from paper plates for the kids craft. I "borrowed" the graphics from the internet (which happen to be pictures of Sesame Street faces t-shirts) and was able to edit them into just eyes, nose, and mouth. Then that idea carried over to the lanterns.

These were the examples for the kids to make their own Sesame Street faces at craft time.

We decided on side walk chalk and bubbles for favors this year, since these have been Brenna's favorite past time this Summer. I made the labels for both.

I stole the banner idea from Jodi, who made a really cute one for Anna's 1st birthday.

I was able to get a couple of snap shoots of the birthday girl before guests arrived. My dear husband surprised me with a new DSLR that came in the afternoon before the party. So, I got alittle practice time with the camera, but I still have a long way to go to learn all the settings.

After some playtime upstairs in the playroom while all the guests arrived, we rounded all the kiddo's up for pizza.

Next we broke out the birthday cake! I'm not sure how much cake the kids ate, but I know they consumed alot of icing.  During clean-up I noticed alot of bare cake!

After cake we started the crafts. The kids had alot of fun. I wish I had gotten more pictures of the Sesame Street faces they made. Some were very creative and bug eyed! An example, in Brenna's picture below of Oscar his nose his really suppose to be his tongue!

Next we played a game of "Pin the Nose on Elmo". The girls were pretty good at it, due to the fact that I think my scarf may have been alittle too thin. Poor Avery was the "littlest" big girl and she was all the way one her tip toes to reach Elmo's nose. Since everyone was so close, we couldn't call a winner.

Finally, we opened gifts. Brenna got some fun stuff and some beautiful new clothes. The highlight was her new bike.

The bike needed some adjustments before it was ready to ride, so the guys worked on it while Brenna supervised. After everything checked out on the bike, we spent the rest of the afternoon outside breaking it in!
